On Monday, a Taliban spokesman informed the media of an end to the talks between the Taliban and the United States on a deal to pullout thousands of US troops from Afghanistan. Both parties will now consult their leadership on steps that should be implemented in the future. The talks took place in Qatar. Zabihullah Mujahid said the talks were “long and useful”, but did not go into detail about the outcome.
