During India’s heavily televised Cricket World Cup match against Sri Lanka, banners reading “India stop genocide & free Kashmir” were flown over Headingley. The ICC has condemned this act of protest, saying the world cup should not be used to further any kind of political message. This is not the first incident of its kind during this World Cup.
