Leader of Opposition Shahbaz Sharif has approached the Lahore High Court challenging the federal government’s decision of placing him on Exit Control List (ECL). Sharif pleads that the impugned memorandum of Feb 21 was issued in an arbitrary manner and was issued against the law and facts as no notice or opportunity of hearing has been afforded to him before putting him on the ECL.

The United States, Britain and France have submitted a proposal to the United Nations Security Council, asking it to blacklist Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, the fourth proposal at the UN over 10 years to list the JeM chief as a global terrorist.
