The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Aftab Mehmood in assets beyond means and money laundering case involving the Shehbaz Sharif family. He was arrested after another accused, Shahid Shafiq, revealed information about both of them transferring millions of rupees into Sharif family's account illegally.

The Supreme Court has ordered all family courts in the country to implement its 10 guidelines to ensure a safe upbringing, and education for the children caught in disputes between parents. The judicial community is calling this a landmark judgment by a bench, comprising Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad gifted a Proton car to Imran Khan on Friday. Malaysia has also announced it will be setting up a Proton car manufacturing unit in Pakistan, which will starting production in June next year. This will be a joint venture between the Malaysian carmaker and its local partner Alhaj Automotive.

Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan is to sit out Pakistan's upcoming tour of England after a medical report confirmed that he was suffering from Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). The Pakistan Cricket Board has stated in a press release that since the virus requires treatment and rest of up to four weeks, Shadab will be unable to play the series.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, the captured Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter pilot has praised the professional treatment he received during his two-day stay with the Pakistani military moments before he was handed over to the Indian authorities, also admitting that the Indian media exaggerates a lot when it comes to issues related to Pakistan. “They make a mountain out of a molehill,” he said.

The Finance Division announced late last night that Dr Reza Baqir of the IMF has been appointed the governor of the State Bank of Pakistan for the next three years. Dr Reza Baqir is a graduate of Aitchison, and obtained a PhD from UC Berkeley in Economics. He has been working with the IMF for the last 16 years.
