ISLAMABAD: Parents in Islamabad left behind newborn twin boys at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Wednesday. Authorities said that the unidentified twins will now be given up for adoption. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqat told that couples who want to adopt the baby boys should contact his office in Sector G-11/4

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Syed Bilal Haider has said that the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway project will be completed within this year. Rs. 43.85 billion is to be spent on the project for 91.2 kilometers of a four lane highway which will greatly reduce travelling time between Sialkot and Lahore. The road is to have seven interchanges in areas including Gujranwala, Daska and Sambrial.

The Nara Amazai police here have registered a case against a Haripur boatman whose boat sank on Wednesday in the Tarbela lake, killing scores of passengers. The case has been filed under Qatle-bis-Sabab (causing death without intention). However, the boatman has not been arrested yet as he is busy in the rescue operation.

This would prevent any more Afghan refugees from illegally gaining CNIC's or passports.

Prime Minister Imran Khan may soon visit Afghanistan in a bid to help the peace process as Washington and Islamabad come closer after prolonged tensions. PM Khan had promised to play a ‘more positive’ role in the Afghan peace process. “The US is supporting our dialogue. They (the US) want us to remain engaged,” a senior official said.
