SEATTLE: Boeing and suppliers set the final number of parts it would need for the 747 jumbo jet program at least a year ago, signaling the end for a plane that democratized global air travel in the 1970s but fell behind modern twin-engine aircraft, industry sources said on Friday. Boeing’s “Queen of the Skies”, the world’s most easily recognized jetliner with its humped fuselage and four engines, marked its 50-year flying anniversary in February 2019, clinging to life thanks to a cargo market boom fueled by online shopping.
KARACHI: The Sindh government allowed the resumption of inter-district transport in the province under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). According to a notification issued in this regard on Friday, the easing of the ban is conditional on the mandatory implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all passenger buses. The notification states that all passengers must maintain a distance of three feet from each other, while also using face masks and hand sanitisers while in the buses, coaches and vans.

KARACHI: Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has granted permission to a private airline, SereneAir, to operate two chartered flights to Saudi Arabia between Jeddah, Riyadh and Karachi, ARY News reported on Friday. SereneAir has been allowed to operate two chartered flights, one from Jeddah to Karachi and second from Karachi to Riyadh, to transport more than 400 nationals.

Shares of Moderna fell 7% on Thursday after medical news site STAT reported a delay in a large trial testing the biotech’s potential coronavirus vaccine as the company makes changes to its study plan.
