Barbados to remove Queen Elizabeth II as head of state in 2021


Barbados has become the first country in over three decades to let go of the monarch Queen Elizabeth II will be removed as the head of state of Barbados as the country will become a republic by 2021, announced the government on Tuesday. The announcement was made by the Caribbean nation?s Governor-General, Sandra Mason who said during a speech that “the time has come to fully leave our colonial past behind.”
