ADB repurposes $50m to help Pakistan combat coronavirus


ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Thursday re-purposed $50 million from Pakistan?s National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) to support the country?s preventive and response efforts to fight the coronavirus outbreak. The funds, which form part of ADB?s series of support measures for Pakistan?s fight against COVID-19, will help to procure medical equipment and supplies to strengthen hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, isolation units, and other medical facilities in the country, said a press release issued by the ADB here on Thursday.
